1Peter 1:21

“Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, so your faith and hope are in God.”

Holiness is the desire of every believer. We want to do right. We try to be like the Master Jesus in all that we do, but many times we fail to measure up. This is made much worse for those that believe God deals with us based on merit. This is not the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Peter wrote in verse 23 of chapter one; “For you have been born again, not of perishable seed, but of imperishable through the living and enduring word of God.”

We are saved by our efforts or our accomplishments. All of that is perishable. We have been born again by imperishable work. Eternal and complete. Christ is our life, our redemption and our hope.

Holiness is the fruit of true faith in the work of Jesus and His eternal promise to never leave or forsake us. We cannot be holy in our own power. It is the power of God, through Christ, and by the Holy Spirit that gives us the victory. We are overcomers by the blood of the lamb and word of our testimony. It is Jesus, Jesus, and Jesus.

Surrender to the work of Christ is predicated on our confession of faith. Christ did it all on Calvary. His death and resurrection made my salvation possible. Without Christ there are no Christians. Through Him I am victorious over sin. Through Him I live a life worthy of His name. Through Him I find strength to persevere even in the weakness of my flesh. It begins with Him and it is finished in Him.

Truth is not available to those that harden their hearts against the message of the gospel of Christ. We cannot know the truth without surrender to the savior of our souls. He is the way the truth and the life. Not man comes to the Father except through Him. The gospel. Your faith and your hope are in Christ. Good news!
